Moving Towards The First Church...Today

The time for change is once again present and I am more than thankful! I have been enthralled with the first church of Acts and how they lived out their faith and sought to do life with other believers and non believers in intentional community and for the purpose of meeting the needs of one another and those within their "hood". Filling up to overflow into the streets and offer real, tangible hope. Reading Shane Claiborne's writings about intentional community living and development put me over the top...i was ready for action! And now I am entering into that community.

I have moved to the Eastside of Indianapolis, to pursue the beginning developments of community living within a house church that is beginning to form in this neighborhood.  I was hoping for somewhere warm, lol, but God laid this opportunity in my lap, gift wrapped and ready to open! So, I jumped in, of course, moving into a rental duplex home and am joining the initial beginnings of this community. And, in all impulsivity, adopted a Rottweiler/Border Terrier mix puppy to add to the change...and challenge lol.

My heart is alive. I am living amidst the very people that my heart burns to connect with, minister to, love on and build relationships with. And I have been in great need of community, myself. The neighborhood is very low-income, and while improving in building development is very depressed, crime-ridden and marginalized. It is easy to see this neighborhood as an empty and dark abyss, but there is so much opportunity for restoration and redemption! One life at a time.

The house church group is in its initial stage of forming. We are currently seeking to identify and implement our vision for the group and how we will be privileged to serve one another and this community in the ways the Spirit leads us.
**Please pray for us as we seek to hear God's leading for our group and for our community**
